Effective,

Storytelling

Helen Jung is a Los Angeles-based writer, director, and assistant director for commercials, music videos, and films. Having worked for South Korea's leading VFX company and one of the top-ranking animation studios in Asia
(formerly known as Mofac & Alfred), Helen communicates and manages projects effectively and is experienced in conducting international co-productions abroad in China and Cuba. In both creative and production departments, Helen has worked on many projects led by prominent South Korean directors, including Jae Hyeok Jang and Woo-Suk Yang, with high-profile Asian talents including Girl’s Day, Apink, Park Hyo-Shin, Si-Wan Lim, Yang Yang, and Wang Leehom.

Graduating with a BFA degree in theatre design from Emerson College,
Helen had an unusual start in her filmmaking career. She started as a production designer for her filmmaking colleagues and directed her first short film, Medea, for her honors thesis. Since then, her background in classical dramatic studies and training in visual aesthetics found new ground in the medium of film. This, along with her bilingual abilities (Korean and English) helped her work internationally in various aspects of production, and her narratives tend to have an intense but subdued, escapist but universal quality to them.

For Helen, no matter what role she undertakes, her goal is to achieve effective, impactful and meaningful storytelling. With the unique combination of her artistic background, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to anticipate a project’s needs, Helen elevates the quality of every production she works on.
